U-shaped nitrile rubber seals (NBR seals) are a common type of rubber sealing component, primarily employed for reciprocating motion sealing of piston rods within hydraulic systems. Characteristics
Material Properties: Manufactured from nitrile rubber, exhibiting excellent resistance to oils, ageing, and ozone. Capable of stable operation within a temperature range of -40°C to 120°C.
Sealing Performance: The U-shaped cross-section design provides effective sealing force, suitable for high-pressure or vibration environments. Requires a retaining ring to prevent extrusion.
Suitable Media: Compatible with petroleum-based hydraulic fluids, glycol-based hydraulic fluids, and diester lubricants. However, it is not resistant to polar solvents such as ketones or nitro hydrocarbons.
Applications
Construction Machinery: Widely used for sealing piston rods in hydraulic cylinders of excavators, cranes, and similar equipment.
Hydraulic systems: Suitable for single-acting cylinders; double-acting systems require retaining rings.
