Nitrile rubber seals (NBR) are elastomers copolymerized from acrylonitrile and butadiene, offering excellent resistance to oils, solvents, and abrasion. They are widely used in automotive, petroleum, aviation, and other industries.

Core Characteristics
Oil Resistance: Exhibits exceptional tolerance to mineral oils, fuel oils, hydraulic fluids, and other oil-based media, making it the preferred material for oil-resistant seals.
Temperature Range: Standard operating temperature spans -40°C to 120°C, with certain high-performance grades capable of withstanding up to 150°C.
Mechanical Properties: Possesses good elasticity but limited dynamic sealing performance, making it more suitable for static or low-motion applications.
Chemical Stability: Resists moderate-concentration alkalis (e.g., 10-30% NaOH/KOH) but is incompatible with strong acids, strong alkalis, and polar solvents (e.g., ketones, MEK).
Primary Applications
Automotive Industry: Oil seals, O-rings, filter seals, and other oil-resistant components in engines.
Petrochemical Industry: Pipeline seals, fuel system components (e.g., diaphragms, gaskets).
Aerospace: Combined with hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR) to enhance high-temperature and high-pressure resistance.
Medical Devices: Widely used in medical gloves due to chemical resistance and high elasticity.
Limitations
Not suitable for high-temperature, strong oxidizing environments, or high-dynamic friction applications (e.g., high-speed pump valves).
Avoid contact with solvents like aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons, which may cause swelling or failure.
